COVID-19 Announcement

The safety and wellbeing of our residents, visitors and staff members is our highest priority. We are committed to continually adapting a plan that focuses on education and prevention to keep the Holy Cross Village community safe.

We’ve already begun taking precautionary measures by following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, as well as our state and local health departments. We are closely monitoring updates from official sources at the federal and state levels that are reporting data about the spread of the coronavirus and recommended response practices.

Our response will continue to evolve as we get new information.

Actions We’re Taking

To protect the well-being of our residents, staff, family members, and partners we are taking the following actions:

  • Providing clear guidance and resources to ensure our community is prepared with both resources and supplies to address any situations that may arise related to the coronavirus.
  • Communicating with community leadership to review key processes, available resources, staffing, answer questions and addressing all concerns.
  • Screening and registering all visitors & staff prior to entry using a questionnaire and, in some cases, taking their temperature.
  • Limited access programming for all services.
    • In the licensed Skilled and Assisted Living areas, access & screening will be conducted at Dujarié House’s main entrance.
      • Visitors will be granted access to the licensed areas ONLY if their immediate family member is at end of life.
    • In Independent Living all visitor and staff screening will be conducted at Andre Place’s main entrance.
      • All visitation will be limited and restricted to family/caregivers that are essential to the resident’s wellbeing and care.
    • We encourage family members to communicate with loved ones via phone, email, video chat, or other remote options.

To help us prevent the spread of communicable disease, including COVID-19, please DO NOT VISIT our community if any of the following apply:

  • You have traveled within the last 14 days outside of the United States or to areas affected by COVID-19.
  • You have signs or symptoms of respiratory infection, such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, or a temperature above 100.4 degrees.
  • You have been on a cruise ship in the past 14 days.
  • In the past 14 days, you have had contact with someone with a confirmed diagnosis or under observation for COVID-19.
  • You reside or work in a complex where community-based spread of COVID-19 is occurring.

We are asking residents, staff and guests to report any experienced or observed respiratory symptoms to management. If we determine a resident has symptoms, we will follow all CDC-dictated protocols for notification, testing and isolation to minimize spread of infection.

We will continue to post updates as we have them available.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we all work together to keep our residents safe.
